KAFFEEkostBAR • Coffee Project Kenya

We have been planning the pioneering project of starting KAFFEEKostBAR in Kenya since 2018, when we tried to bring Eric to Saxony so that he could get a proper vocational training at our base in Döbeln, and at that time just before we opened another location in Dresden. Eric wasn't allowed into Germany by the German Foreign Office, even though we officially invited him for a maximum of 3 months. For us, that's blunt evidence of neo-colonialism. And that is why we felt God's invitation to start KAFFEEKostBAR there with Eric as a key person for the ministry.

Yes, it took quite some time before we were able to take the first step as a family to visit Eric and Mercy to equip him with all the necessary knowledge and also the simple coffee utensils as a starting point. Our commitment to invest our hearts and lives means 2 whole months, which is not a short time. We are living together as 2 families in a rented house in Ngong Town and adjustments have to be made as 2 different cultures, behaviours and mindsets collide. We have been open with each other as we both want to live God's heavenly culture in the house. Yes, it has it's challenges and also it's beauties. In all, we thank Jesus for this intense time of sharing our lives together.

We were really immersed in the personal life of Eric Mwirigi Kithao as he went with us to invite and visit his good friends and relatives - for example in the eastern part of Nairobi: a roadside fruit seller whom he helped when he first came to the capital and had to survive financially. This man is a person from Eric's birth region, Meru County, and he lives the Two Kings Principle with the direct producers in Meru County towards his buyers within Nairobi, including Eric.

One of our goal to get connected with one of the passionate bio coffee farmers of Kenya was fulfilled and not just with one but with 3 families from 2 different county: Kericho and Kitale. With their given best goods we will declare the best Kenyans natural royalty coffee with the non negotiable Two-Kings-Principle.

Therefore Eric registered his Kenyan company “Mwirigi Kahawa – MUNGOs” and started the book keeping works and marketing too. Couple weeks from the time where we left Kenya, there was a meaningful 3 days coffee exhibition and as a chosen importeur from the brand TIMEMORE we did the 1st import just couple of days before the event has begun.

Since June Eric has given coffee seminars toward his friends and other people using the given royalty coffees that was roasted from Döbeln, Germany. Now we are still waiting to be able to release the imported goods from the Kenyan’s forwarder in Nairobi such as royalty coffees from Island of Flores, sample roaster machines and cupping bowls from SUJI, West Java, Indonesia. Due to the very high custom cost given by the forwarder Eric is waiting for the God’s specific help and guidance, which he is experiencing in these days from beginning of November 2023.

One of our goals to connect with one of Kenya's passionate organic coffee farmers was fulfilled, and not just with one, but with 3 families from 2 different counties: Kericho and Kitale. With their given best goods we will declare the best Kenyan BIO Royalty Coffee with the non-negotiable Two Kings Principle.

So Eric registered his Kenyan company "Mwirigi Kahawa - MUNGOs" and started the bookkeeping and marketing. A few weeks after we left Kenya, there was a major 3-day coffee exhibition and as the selected importer of the TIMEMORE brand, we made the first import just a few days before the event began.
